Knockin' Me Out With Those American Thighs...

I've been monitoring the Sexiest Female Blogger poll since last night and I've been lingering somewhere between #17-#20. I'm surprised and elated. This puts me in the top half of the list! Thanks SO MUCH to everyone who has voted for me so far, I really appreciate it. You really know how to make a girl smile. Now for those who HAVEN'T voted for me or haven't voted at all, what are you waiting for? Head on over and give Gennie a vote. I'm not some math wiz or anything, but by my last calculations, I'll need 100 votes today to get to the top. I've received somewhere around 50 so far, so I think I can pull a cool 100 today. So c'mon...vote for Gennie! :) Let me sway your votes with a sexy...

Song...

AC/DC "Shook Me All Night Long"

Poem...
Flirt
by: Jade

temptation persuades fingers through hair
admiring a new cut
clothes brush closer in side step
a glance and smile
sorry!
its ok.
search for a physical moment
an arm around the waist
to move around
pulled closer to speak
as if the room is tight
lips to ear conveying messages
and drawn closer
what did you say?
not so important
above noise
maybe useful at least
with a hopeful laugh or smile to return
interpretation is the key
words and touch deceive
thoughts fooled by trickery
or perhaps you fooled yourself
maybe next time

and picture...

Touch, hot, sizzzzzleeeee.

This Is The House That Funk Built...

Okay, so I'm officially a candidate for Sexiest Female Blogger! *woot woot* I'm willing to do almost anything to win this, well almost anything. Yes, I'm aware that I probably don't stand a rat's ass chance of winning, but I'm cool with that. I'm STILL going to do my best to sway all you fine men-folk my way. *winks*

I'm going to go ahead and ask for the support of my fellow Georgia bloggers. Wouldn't it be great to have a Georgia Peach as the winner? Oh and all of my Alias pals had better vote for me too dangit! I'm looking for all of you guys to get in there and vote for me.

I'll be the first to admit that I'm probably not the most attractive of the nominees. I mean...have you seen these gals? Or Da Goddess? Or maybe Moxie? And what about Ith? Hot mamas all! But I think that I can be sexy just the same. And if I lose, oh well. Always next year. ;)

I'm going to kick this campaign off with a little music for ya.

Groove Armada

"I See You Baby"

One For The Good Guys!

I love reading these kind of news stories. It's good to know that the airlines are doing their jobs. These two men could've slipped through the cracks and did some major damage. Kudos to those employees!

2 Pakistani men arrested at Seattle airport after name found on federal 'no-fly' list

The Associated Press
SEATTLE — Two Pakistani men were being held on possible immigration violations Wednesday after an airline employee at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport found one of their names on a terrorism-related "no-fly" list, authorities said.

Port of Seattle police detained both men Saturday night and turned them over to the FBI.

"We're looking at how they entered the country. Sometime in the near future they'll be scheduled for an immigration hearing," said Michael Milne, a spokesman for the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

No criminal charges have been filed against the men, whose names were not been released. Milne said they were being held for investigation of immigration violations.

One of the men, age 36, had a Canadian driver's license and paid cash for a one-way ticket to New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport, the Seattle Times reported in Wednesday editions. After the airline employee called 911, the man left the counter and left behind his ticket.

The other man, age 29, was carrying a New York driver's license and also paid cash for a one-way ticket to Kennedy Airport on a different airline, according to police reports.

Both used Pakistani passports, The Times said, citing unidentified sources.

The newspaper said the men told investigators they paid to be smuggled across the border from Canada last month.

The men were taken into custody Saturday night after an American Airlines employee and a ticket agent from another major airline ran their names through the Transportation Security Administration's no-fly database of suspected terrorists and became suspicious.

Since the Sept. 11, 2001, hijackings, airlines have routinely run security checks on passengers who purchase one-way tickets or buy tickets with cash.

Hundreds of individuals have been briefly detained at airports after their names matched those on the TSA no-fly list, according to TSA records.

This Just Made My Day...

... excuse me while I dislodge this Pop-Tart from my throat. *coughs and wheezes*

Er...sorry about that. Talk about unexpected! So yeah, Matthew is SOOO getting one of these bad boys for Christmas! Hell yeah! I'm sure that it will be mocked by those looney Liberals, but I personally think it is BAD ASS. So let them mock. If they get their panties in too much of a wad we'll just have to throw together a Bill Clinton doll for them. It'll have the works, complete with a bobble head Monica, DNA stained dress, and impeachment papers.

WASHINGTON — GI George is a high-flying, helmet-carrying Navy pilot who should be strutting into a toy store near you by September.

Blue Box Toys (search), a Chinese company that also produces "Hello Kitty" products, is hoping to sell at least 5,000 of the 12-inch-tall Bush figurines commemorating the president's May 1 landing on the USS Abraham Lincoln (search) aircraft carrier, when he declared that major combat in Iraq was over.

An artist in Hong Kong carved Bush's likeness from photos of the event, and all of the figure's clothing and accessories are modeled precisely on what the president wore the day he landed in a S-3B Viking aircraft (search).

The hair on the fully poseable doll is cropped close, and he wears the steeled look of a man with many missions under his belt. He carries flares, a helmet, extra oxygen and a parachute harness. Even his zippers zip.

The aviator action figure is intended to "commemorate something historical, something we all watched," according to company spokeswoman Lauri Aibel.

Aibel, who told The New York Post that she did not vote for Bush, says he's worthy of his own action figure because he transfixed America by doing something no president had ever done before.

The president's likeness, packaged with a $39.99 price tag and marketed as "Elite Force Aviator: George W. Bush - U.S. President and Naval Aviator," marks the first time Blue Box Toys and its subsidiary, BBI, have turned a political figure into a toy.

A few years ago, BBI created an action figure modeled on Rudy Bosch, the former Navy SEAL who became famous on CBS's "Survivor."

Aibel said BBI had no interest in making a political point with their figure. She noted that executives at the privately held company are Chinese and are largely unaware of the political repercussions of Bush's carrier landing.

Since the president is a public figure, there's a wide latitude under the law for using his image, the toy company said.

So far, the action figure is only available online, but it will eventually be sold in retail stores.

The White House declined to comment.

I'm Losing It...

"It" being my ability to bitch and rant on this blog. I know that you've all noticed how my entries are fewer and fewer. A lot has to do with real life, but a lot also has to do with that I have absolutely NOTHING to write about. "It" seems to be making it's rounds around the blogsphere. "It" is scaring me. Hurry, someone insult me so that I can bitch. What's happening to me?!?

Also...does anyone ever listen to my Song of the Day? *points to navigation on right* I'm really trying to keep it entertaining folks.

Good First Day...

Just got Matt off the school bus. He had a great day! I'm now off to work. :)

Feeling All Antsy Like...

It's now 3:35 AM. I'm still up. I should be sleeping. Instead, I'm up going over my son's backpack. I'm rechecking papers that I had to fill out. I'm still unsure on what the child is wearing. I'm stressing over him riding the school bus. Will he make it to class okay? What about on the way back? Should I follow the bus? Can I handle this? Lord only knows. I'm iffy on the whole subject right now. All I know is that in less than three hours Matt will wake up and begin his first day of kindergarten. My heart is breaking into a million pieces right now. I'm crying though I'm really not sure why. Maybe it's because he's growing up so fast. Maybe it's because I'm getting old. Maybe it's a combination of the two. I knew this day would come, but damn, did it have to come so soon? Why can't he stay home with Mommy and Daddy a little longer? My little boy is growing up and I'm very sad. :(

Life Or Something Like It...

Contrary to popular belief, I am not dead. I have NOT fallen off the face of God's green Earth. I have not been kidnapped by the Symbionese Liberation Army. I have though been busy with real life activities. Real life being things away from the computer-internet-blog world. Let's see if I can bring you all up to date...

Jason graduated from the police academy this past Monday. I don't think I need to tell you all how extremely happy and relieved I am. Now he can go out and get a real job with REAL benefits and REAL pay. No more radio station. Yay for Jason. He received some cards, some money, a really nice organizer, and $25.00 in Krispy Kreme Donuts. Lovely.

Speaking of the radio station, Jason had to go by there the other day to have them fill out a paper for the sheriff's application. His jerk ex-boss had the nerve to ask him if he was interested in working Sundays. Where does he get off asking Jason that sort of question?! Okay, so they fire Jason after PROMISING that he'll have a job when the stations moved over to Alfred. They blame it on budget cuts, which is such bullshit. They always blame firings on budget cuts. I have my own opinion on why Jason was let go and it doesn't have a damn thing to do their fucking budgets. I think it was because Jason was white. Yep, you heard me right, but let me repeat it for those of you who didn't get it the first time. I THINK JASON WAS FIRED FROM THE BEAT BECAUSE HE WAS WHITE. He was the only remaining member of the original station crew before it switched over to The Beat. All of the other white station members had been weeded out and Jason was the only one left. They made it hard on Jason and I think that when they saw that he wasn't going to leave, they found some bullshit reason for firing him. Clear Channel Communications Savannah sucks big monkey balls! *throws fist up*

So anyways, yeah real life stuff. Let's see...

We attended open house at Matt's school past Thursday. We met Matt's teachers and I signed up for two parent organizations. I'm now an official member of the PTA. I don't know whether to be scared or elated. I think it's very important to take an active part in your child's school activities. I never had this when I was growing up, so I'm bound and determined to make sure that Matt knows that I'm taking an active part in his education and whatnot. Next on the agenda, soccer. Monday's the deadline for signups so I have to rush over to the rec center and sign Matthew up sometime that morning. Then I'll be a soccer Mom. *evil grin*

-----------------------

Aside from school school school, I've been working like a mad woman. It seems like I'm ALWAYS at work anymore. Not that I'm complaining or anything...er...well actually I AM complaining. I need a vacation...now.

I've taken advantage of my weekend off and have managed to do some house cleaning and laundry. This place is slowly turning into a pig sty. It's crazy. I need a maid. I also need a painter, carpenter, and interior decorator. Anyone willing to offer their services?

We headed to the beach Saturday to soak up some fresh beach air and sunshine. We didn't get a lot of sunshine, but we enjoyed ourselves nonetheless. The drive took less that 30 minutes, which was good considering that we went from downtown Savannah to Victory then over Wilmington Island way. The traffic was a bit congested, but moving at a nice pace. We found a nice parking place next to the private part of the island and walked back towards the pier. Along the way we stopped to pick up seashells and write our names in the sand. Matthew decided to throw himself into the Atlantic with all of his clothes on, which meant that I had to throw myself into the Atlantic with all of my clothes on. The child is going to be the death of me. He played in the little pools of water and walked on the large pieces of driftwood that had found their place on the beach. Me and Jason just stood back and enjoyed watching him. We then found our way onto the pier where a band was playing. I'm not sure of the name of the band, but they were awesome! I'll try to find out who they are on Monday. We strolled down the pier to the end and sat back and talked. I enjoyed the combination of good music, fresh salt water smell, and light breeze. The view of the Tybee shoreline at night was gorgeous. All in all, a very good night. We were all pooped when we got home. We took showers and munched on some chips, subs, and sodas before heading to bed. I woke up this morning feeling VERY stiff and a tad burnt, so you know I had a good time. I'll upload my beach pics in a second. They're not very bright, but I hope you all enjoy them. :)

Speaking of fanlistings, me and my partner-in-all-things-evil *Jen*, have opened the Be Mine Fanlisting. For those of you not familiar with the song, it's by David Gray and it ROCKS! So go join.

Also, mad props to Faith for sending me a copy of the cd. I've never been happier! *big hugs*
