Buy Blue...

I had meant to post about this before Christmas, but you know how that goes. I found out about Buy Blue and Choose the Blue from the cesspool that is Dumbocratic Underground. It seems as if the "Blue Americans" want to punish the "Red Americans" for Bush's re-election by only buying from "blue" companies that contributed mostly to the Democratic party. Granted, the list of blue companies is small, but there are some big names: Starbucks, Estee Lauder, Barnes and Noble, Sonic, Bed Bath & Beyond, Costco, J Crew, Anne Klein, Skechers, Shell Oil, etc etc etc. M'kay...well I think that's pretty fucking childish. I knew about Buy Blue before the holidays and that didn't stop me from stopping by Starbucks and dropping $4.00 on an overpriced latte. That didn't stop me from buying a book from Barnes & Noble. I mean, does it really fucking matter? Come the hell on people. We're all Americans and trying to put a company out of business because they contributed more money to one party than the other is stupid. It only hurts our economy. It only cuts more jobs. And I'm sorry, but the left's obsession with bringing down Wal-Mart is starting to get a little scary. But hey, that's just my opinion, not that it really matters or anything.

So please, go ahead and only buy from "blue" companies if it makes you feel better. Just know that I think you're an asshole. And a crybaby. Get over it already. Geesh. Maybe I should just jump on the shitwagon and return all of my gifts from "blue" companies. Ah hell, let's all just return our gifts. And while we're at it, let's divide the country up into the Blue Staters and the Red Staters. And let's just put up a huge electric fence to keep each other out. That way, we wouldn't have to talk to people who don't agree with us. And shit, we may as well form two separate countries from the two. I think the Liberals already have a map up somewhere. Oh that's right, the red states would be called "Jesusland". Us "Jesuslanders" can have our Christmas and not have to worry about anyone fucking with it. And the rest of you won't be forced to celebrate our "hateful religious holiday" and listen to our patriotic country music. Everyone could live in peace and harmony in their own designated countries. That sound good to everybody? Sound like a plan?

Assholes.

UPDATE: I emailed Bed Bath & Beyond, just for the hell of it, to see if they actually contributed to political parties. Not that it matter either which way, but it struck me as a little odd that they would be on the list. I just got this response back:

Hello Gennie,

Thank you for your email. The information that is being reported regarding political contributions by Bed Bath & Beyond is not correct. The company has not made and does not make political contributions. We appreciate your comments and value you as our customer. We hope that you will continue to shop with us both online and in our stores.

Sincerely,

Julio
Customer Service

Hrm...think someone should tell BuyBlue.org that their information is wrong? I'm going to check into this a bit further, because I'm not so sure Julio is telling me the truth. I just sent out five similar emails, to companies that I buy from, asking if the information is correct. Should be interesting to see what I get back.

Update #2: I just received this email from Starbucks:

Dear Gennie,

In regards to your inquiry, we would like the opportunity to gather a bit more information in order to best assist you. Please call our customer relations department at 1-800-23-LATTE. Upon calling, please have reference (#removed) available. Our representatives are happy to help you with any questions or concerns you might have.

On behalf of Starbucks, I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts with us and look forward to hearing from you soon.

Warm Regards,
Jason

Why in the world would they want to speak to me in person? An email would've been sufficent. It's 2AM, which means it's too late to call them. It can wait until I wake up. Let you know something then.
