Riika and myself had a grand ole time upgrading our blogs to MT 3.1 last night. We came into a glitch though when we tried to implement Typekey into our comments. Well, after two hours, I've still haven't figured it out. *scratches head* Aside from a bit of tweeking and maybe some stylesheet editing, everything seems to be up and running. I can count on you guys to let me know if you encounter any problems, right?
So here's the deal about comment moderation and why I decided to use it...
I am SICK to death of spam. You really have no idea the amount that I delete every single day. Blacklist does an excellent job of blocking most of it, but spammers are a crafty bunch and they always find a way around it. For this reason, I am now manually approving comments. I know, I hate that it's gotten to this point, but I really can't think of anything else to thwart the comment spammers. You can still post like you always did, nothing has changed, the only requirements being a name and an email. And when I say email, I don't mean that you have to give out your email if you don't want to. I rarely do when I comment on other sites. If you're concerned about keeping your email private, just do what I do and put in: nospam@hotmail. Instead of your comments automatically showing up, I'll approve them first. And seeing that I spend a lot of time on this site, most comments should be added without much delay.
Comments? Questions? Concerns?
I'm having comment issues, so please hold off on commenting on the site until I have them figured out, okay? Thanks.
