Turkey With It's Head Cut Off...

Okay, so I'm just SO busy right now! I'm in the middle of cooking homemade pecan and pumpkin pies, and drop cake. We're not having Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow, because both Jason and myself are working. Instead, we're going to have it on Friday. My parents, younger siblings, and my grandmother are coming up to eat with us then. And because I'm working, I know that I won't have time to do all of the pie baking tomorrow, so I'm just doing it today. I just got back from the store...and omg...nightmare. They were almost out of everything. I came pretty close to fighting a lady over a can of cherry pie filling. It's brutal out there!

I did clean out my frige/freezer last night to make room for new food. It's sparkling, bleachy clean now! I'm going to spend tonight cleaning the rest of the house and tidying things up, just in case we have any unexpected visitors. That task should be made more simpler by the fact that I dropped Matt off at my mother-in-law's for the night. Thank goodness for her.

I had a recipe request for Bourbon Pecan Pie:

Bourbon Pecan Pie:
2 (9-inch) pie shells, deep dish
2 oz. plain flour
2 oz. sugar
1 1/2 qt. light Karo syrup
1 pt. whole eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. salt
3 oz. melted butter
1 c. pecans
1 (3 oz.) bourbon
Mix flour, sugar and syrup together. Whip together eggs, vanilla, salt and bourbon. Combine above until smooth liquid. Place 4 oz. (1/2 cup) pecans in each pie shell and pour mixture over this. Bake at 325 degrees until top cracks slightly and pie crust is golden brown.

I need to mention a few things before I get back to being Susy Homemaker...

First off, I'm still working on BlogExplosion ners for everyone who's requested one. I will not be working on any tomorrow, obviously, so please expect your ner either by Friday or Saturday at the latest. If you've requested a ner, but haven't heard back from me yet, PLEASE email me. Sometimes I get so busy that I tend to forget things I need to do. A little reminder will get would be nice. :)

Second, it's pe-cahn, not pee-can. A pee-can is something that you piss in when you're stranded somewhere without a toilet. When I go the local Piggly Wiggly and I ask one of you Southern crackers where the pe-cahns are, I don't expect to be snorted at, laughed at, or corrected. I know how it's fucking pronounced. Just point me in the direction of the damn nuts and shut up. Or at least wait until I'm out of listening range before you make fun of me. If one more person does this to me, I may just chuck a can of cranberry sauce at their teeth.

Third, we've settled on a name for the new doggie. We've decided to call her Baby. We went through a plethora of names (Jackie-O, Chompers, Hermoine, Sparky, Dixie, etc) before we finally gave in. I was calling her baby all the time anyways and she was starting to recognize it as her name, so there was really no use in changing her name again and confusing the poor thing. Anyways, I love Baby. She's the bestest doggie in the world! Well, except for that one time she pissed on my living room floor, and then she was the baddest doggie in the world. *wags finger at*

Fourth, I've been really bad about responding to comments lately. I apologize. I'm just so busy and I can't think straight half the time. I'm not ignoring you, I promise. Sometimes, comments get lost in the shuffle and I forget to respond. I promise to do better, okay? If there's something you really need a response to, kindly comment and put "bump" so I know you want me to take notice. Thankers.

Fifth...have a happy Thanksgiving! I'm sure I'll do an official blog post tomorrow, but if I don't, I just want you all to know that I'm thankful that you take the time out of your day to come here and read my rantings and mad postings. That you take the time out to comment. And that you try your best to look over my crazy, profanic ways. You all rock my socks.

Okay...switching back into Susie Homemaker. ;)
