Electoral College / Election Chat...

I'm finished up my final essay for Political Science and I thought I would share with you what I've come up with. Basically, we were to create a chart listing each state, their electoral votes, and who I think those votes will go to. At the end, we have to count up each vote and declare a winner. I'm sure that my calculations will be WAY off, this are my results:

Alabama 9 George W. Bush
Alaska 3 George W. Bush
Arizona 10 John Kerry
Arkansas 6 John Kerry
California 55 John Kerry
Colorado 9 John Kerry
Connecticut 7 John Kerry
Delaware 3 John Kerry
District of Columbia 3 John Kerry
Florida 27 George W. Bush
Georgia 15 George W. Bush
Hawaii 4 John Kerry
Idaho 4 George W. Bush
Illinois 21 George W. Bush
Indiana 11 George W. Bush
Iowa 7 George W. Bush
Kansas 6 George W. Bush
Kentucky 8 John Kerry
Louisiana 9 George W. Bush
Maine 4 John Kerry
Maryland 10 John Kerry
Massachusetts 12 John Kerry
Michigan 17 John Kerry
Minnesota 10 George W. Bush
Mississippi 6 George W. Bush
Missouri 11 George W. Bush
Montana 3 George W. Bush
Nebraska 5 George W. Bush
Nevada 5 George W. Bush
New Hampshire 4 John Kerry
New Jersey 15 John Kerry
New Mexico 5 George W. Bush
New York 31 George W. Bush
North Carolina 15 George W. Bush
North Dakota 3 George W. Bush
Ohio 20 George W. Bush
Oklahoma 7 George W. Bush
Oregon 7 John Kerry
Pennsylvania 21 John Kerry
Rhode Island 4 John Kerry
South Carolina 8 George W. Bush
South Dakota 3 George W. Bush
Tennessee 11 George W. Bush
Texas 34 George W. Bush
Utah 5 John Kerry
Vermont 3 John Kerry
Virginia 13 John Kerry
Washington 11 John Kerry
West Virginia 5 John Kerry
Wisconsin 10 John Kerry
Wyoming 3 George W. Bush

Total:
George W. Bush – 293
John Kerry – 228

Winner: George W. Bush

Like I said, this is probably going to be way off from what the actual votes turn out to be. I based my votes on the 2000 election results and sheer gut feeling. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out. For all I know, the numbers could be reversed and Kerry could be elected. We'll have to see. The current predictor has Kerry winning with 298 to Bush's 231.

I still haven't decided whether I'm going to the AASU College Republicans election party or not. It all depends on a babysitter at this point. If I find myself staying home, I will be hosting a chat from 8:30PM-1:30AM (EST). I'd LOVE for you all, Democrat and Republican, to pop in and say hi. We'll be talking about the election, politics, and anything else that tickles our fancy. All I ask is that trolls and assholes stay out. If you can't be civil and RESPECTFUL in chat, then please don't bother joining. Also, the chat will be moderated and people will be ned from the site if they decide to get nasty. Let's all keep cool and have a great time! Okay? Go ahead and register a screen name ahead of time and keep the info handy.
